Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame Induction
It was indeed an honor to have been inducted into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame this past Saturday evening, June 9th, in the Special Contributions/Promoter/Organizer category. I am humbled to be recognized for my work in music over the past 30 years. I was so honored to be among the others being inducted this year: David Holt (pictured with me above), George Hamilton IV, Tut Taylor, Snuffy Jenkins, Charlie Poole, The Chuckwagon Gang, Oliver Swofford and Dr. T. R. Bryan. My good friend, Jamie Dailey of Dailey & Vincent, was on hand to be the presenter of my induction. He played guitar and sang Vince Gill's "Hills of Caroline" in his always crystal-clear cutting vocal. It was Jamie's birthday and I was happy he chose to spend it helping me celebrate this honor with family and friends.
I also got to perform on stage with my husband, Terry, my son, Hunter and our friend, David Johnson (who I was in a band with more than 20 years ago!) We did "Blue Ridge Mountain Blues".
I will be posting more about the big night, as well as many photos, so please check back soon!
